Job description

You can reach your full professional potential when you’re working for the right firm.

If you’re looking for a VAT  associate director role, this available position should be of interest because of the calibre of the hiring firm. Headquartered in London this international practice is growing rapidly.

The firm aims to provide an exceptional, innovative global service.

The London office provides outstanding advice to individual clients, professional practices, non-profit organisations, and mid to large corporations.

Tax Services

You’ll be working within the indirect tax department of the firm. This department is responsible for providing excellent tax and consulting services to many companies, including multinational groups and owner-managed businesses. The firm works closely with its clients to ensure it can offer bespoke tax advice.

The Role

You’ll be in charge of looking after your own portfolio of VAT clients. Additionally, you’ll work with the partners and directors, and sometimes on your own, on technically challenging and complicated consultancy and advisory projects. You’ll also identify new business opportunities for the firm, enhancing the client portfolio by offering additional services to existing clients or bringing onboard new clients.

Client Duties

Your primary motivation will be to offer an exceptional level of service to the portfolio of clients. You’ll do this by bringing your considerable VAT experience and talents to the firm.

On a day to day basis, you’ll review your portfolio of recurring VAT returns and compliance cases. You’ll also engage in consultancy work, such as VAT planning. You’ll work closely with the clients, functioning as a trusted advisor in developing commercial and strategic issues.

You’ll help raise the firm's profile, for example, by investing in your technical understanding of VAT and becoming seen as an expert on the topic. Additionally, you’ll look for ways to develop the client portfolio. Above all, you’ll deliver next-level service to the clients.

You’ll have a significant influence on the inner workings of the firm too. You’ll work closely with the partners and directors, provide appraisals for other staff members, and offer job training and mentorship to the more junior members of the team. More broadly, you’ll work on business development opportunities that help elevate the firm's status and profile and identify new business opportunities. You’ll take part in internal and external seminars and courses and host internal training sessions and meetings.
