Job description

Join a firm where advisory tax work really means advisory

This UK mid-tier accountancy firm has built a serious reputation in the entrepreneurial, privately owned and mid-market space — working with UK and international groups, scale-ups, owner-managed businesses and PE-backed companies.

They deliver high-quality, commercially driven corporate tax advice that regularly punches above mid-tier expectations, backed by a credible international network — without the red tape and rigidity of the Big 4.

A culture built for progression — not politics

This is a partner-led, approachable and genuinely less-hierarchical environment. You’ll have real access to decision-makers and meaningful visibility across the firm.

✔ Professional expectations — balanced with trust and flexibility
✔ Long-term development over constant external hiring
✔ Teams big enough for depth — small enough that your contribution matters
✔ Collaborative working across Corporate Tax, Private Client, VAT and Employment Taxes

No silos. No ego. Just smart people doing interesting work.

The Opportunity – Assistant Manager (Consultancy Focus)

As a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager, you’ll support and deliver a broad range of advisory-led assignments, while continuing to build your technical and client-facing capability. Typical areas include:

  • Corporate restructures and group reorganisations

  • M&A and transaction-related tax support

  • Shareholder and profit extraction planning

  • International and cross-border tax issues

  • Tax risk and governance matters

You’ll work closely with senior team members and partners, gaining real exposure to clients and genuine involvement in advisory discussions, while also reviewing and supporting compliance work where needed. This is an excellent role for someone who enjoys consultancy-style work and wants to progress toward a more senior advisory position.

Fast, genuine progression to Manager

Progression here isn’t about ticking time-served boxes — it’s based on readiness, capability and impact. As an Assistant Manager you’ll build real advisory depth, take on visible client responsibility early, and work closely with partners — giving you the platform to step up to Manager sooner than in larger firms.

You’ll have:

• A clear, structured path to Manager
• Regular career conversations — not just annual reviews
• The chance to lead projects and client relationships early
• Support, mentoring and genuine backing to progress

If you want to move your career forward — not sideways — this is a firm that will help you get there.
