If you were to ask many accountancy firms what one word characterises them best, you are likely to hear words such as ambition, commitment and prosperity. In this firm that I am representing, it would be people. Now that’s not to say that this firm doesn’t embody qualities like ambition, commitment and prosperity … far from it. If you do flourish in the position, you will get promoted. Simple! I know a lot of firms make this concept seem complex but that tracks back to the fact they’re not people orientated. Some firms won’t consider what you have achieved, what you have contributed and what your potential is. They simply have a box to fill and if you do not fit it, you won’t get promoted. The emphasis on individuality at this firm means that would never pose an issue for you. People are promoted according to ability – nothing else. This is probably why the firm boasts of such high retention rates.

They want a leader. They want someone who will bring a fresh perspective to the team. Bring new ideas to the group and collectively move them forward. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time and therefore you will delegate work to each of your team and ensure it is all completed to a high standard. You will also take an active interest in developing each individual to ensure they skills are being maximised, that they are developing and that they are happy.
Additionally, you will be responsible for your own portfolio of clients ranging across a number of sectors.
Example of the work the team deals with include: property transactions, business restructures , business disposals, cross border and international trade taxation, Customs duty, reliefs and refunds, HMRC investigations, HMRC disputes and appeals to VAT tribunals and fraud investigations.
