Job type Permanent

Contact NameLucy Greenwood

Job description

The average person spends 42.7 hours of their week at work. If you find these hours to be the slowest hours of the week – you may want to consider a change.

What is your current role not offering you?

Progression? At this firm you could join at manager and make senior manager in 12-18 months.  The partners here take the time to work alongside you and support you in achieving your career goals.

The tax partner recently said to me “when our people do well, we do well. So of course we want to help them as much as possible.”

Being a part of the tax team here sees you as an integral member of the firm, with 40% of the firms’ turnover being generated through their tax teams, tax is a focal interest, not just an aside to the audit teams like you may find in other ranked firms.

Culture? No one wants to work in an environment where they feel demoralised, unsupported or just plain bored. Here the team work cohesively with an open communication policy where everyone’s input is appreciated. You are encouraged to discuss work with the partners and are not restricted through ‘red tape’ or tiresome communication processes. You can expect to enter a team enthusiastic about their career but also enjoying a healthy lifestyle balance – expect cycling, tennis and a lot of holiday small talk!

Interesting work? With one of the largest tax presence in the South of England, this firm has a varied and interesting client base. Your portfolio will include HNWI’s, a majority of whom being in the sporting or IT industry (you will not need specific exposure to clients in this sector) Managing this portfolio you will see a 30:70 advisory split – which will increase as the senior partners guide you through the more in depth advisory work.

What do you need to apply?

There is a great deal of autonomy and a level of client managing in this role that would make being CTA qualified beneficial. You will also need to have experience of personal tax portfolio management.
