This dynamic mid-tier firm is known for its specialist teams and has grown thanks to a successful strategy of inward investment. The firm is a mid-tier practice, but it is more accurate to describe it as a firm of specialist advisers. The London presence of the firm allows it to compete effectively with the Top 6 firms and the practice has no trouble attracting talent from much larger firms. The tax team has an excellent reputation for staff retention and advancing its people. The firm has an international network that provides it with a lot of work. Clients include successful UK OMBs to international organisations with significant turnovers.

The role will involve you handling your own portfolio of SME’s and (working alongside the tax partners) undertaking tax planning and other ad hoc assignments in the firm’s business tax function.

You will be responsible for the advancement and development of the tax practice by creating tax advisory work from the firm’s existing clients and networks.

Some other aspects of this position:

•Manage a portfolio of SME clients and establish yourself as the main point of contact
•Review the corporation tax returns of your clients and ensure all procedures are fully complied with.
•Liaise with internal and external contacts to ensure effective client management
•Act as contact for internal and external clients who have technical or planning queries.
•Act as the contact for technical queries
•Deal with client queries and identify potential issues
•Recognise and act on opportunities to develop further work from existing clients
•Assist with partners with tax planning and ad-hoc projects
•Market the firm’s Business Tax function both outside the firm to clients and
•Manage and mentor junior team members, and supporting their development.
