Are you looking to take your tax career to the next level? Then this might be the position that you’ve been waiting for. A large accounting firm is looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join their team.

The role involves providing tax technical advice and compliance services to the firm’s corporate clients while ensuring that budget and client satisfaction are high. As well as working for the clients, this role will involve working with other members of staff and the partners and broadly managing the team and aiding career development.

As the technical lead in a corporate tax department, the successful candidate must have plenty of experience providing tax advice to a high technical capability.

You’ll be working on a wide array of tax issues, including:
  • Corporate interest restrictions
  • Research and Development
  • Mergers, demergers, and acquisitions
  • Creative Tax Reliefs 
  • International transactions and business structuring

Your Skills and Traits

You’ll be working closely with clients and other team members, so excellent communication skills are essential. It’s a people-oriented role, and so approachability is key. You’ll need to enjoy working with other people and know-how to develop and maintain working relationships, both with the tax team, other departments within the firm, and clients. The successful candidate will also have the confidence to take on a leading role with the firm’s most complex cases.

What You’ll Be Doing

The role will involve a diverse range of responsibilities. You’ll be in charge of ensuring that complex corporate tax projects are completed on time and within budget. Within the firm, you’ll manage corporate team WIP and billing, helping to achieve targets, and will also assist with cash collection. You’ll also work closely with other team members, supervising their work and helping to develop training and career development programs.

Your Background

You’ll have a strong working background working with complex corporate tax cases. Over the years, you’ve developed a strong technical and commercial awareness, as well as developing an in-depth understanding of tax-related policies, processes, and procedures. Above all, you’ll be committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and delivering outstanding work, time and time again.

You will be CTA qualified and have at least five years post-qualification experience under your belt. You’ll have worked in a similar role for at least twelve months.
