Job description
The partners at this award-winning firm pride themselves in their commitment to investing in new ideas, new talent and new approaches. Your ideas and suggestions are listened to at this firm. The senior partners have a process that allows employees to discuss ideas and contribute with suggestions on anything and everything. In other words, partners pay attention to you. As a result, staff feel involved in their environment, are happier, more productive and tend to stick around longer.
This is not a Big 4 firm. However, the type of clients, work and salary packages are comparable to the bigger practices.
The private client tax team does not lack work, and the focus here is on the client interaction and the technical work. This doesn't mean you can’t get involved in business development, but it isn't the focus of this role.
The firm has a range of HNWI’s with the UK and international tax issues. For example, you will advise your clients on personal tax planning to mitigate income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax liabilities.
But what are the prospects?
The private client tax team is a highly valued part of the business, and the firm is best described as a tax-driven practice. In other words, tax professionals are not second class citizens but a vital part of the firm’s success.
This firm will advance you to the director and (if you wish it) give you a shot at partner. You could probably make director in 12-24 months, although that does depend on you, of course.
The last two senior managers who joined at senior manager grade made director in under 24 months. The senior staff that I speak to (personal tax manager - director) frequently site the ‘unique’ culture of the practice and the high level of responsibility compared to larger firms.
Benefits include a contributory pension scheme, discretionary bonus scheme, private medical insurance, life assurance, flexible holiday scheme, and many other benefits.
I would be happy to have a confidential discussion about this personal tax senior manager position and why I think it offers you a credible career move. Please feel free to APPLY for an immediate response.
