Job description

An ambitious and growing firm is hiring a corporate tax assistant manager to join its dynamic Bristol office.

A fast-growing, Bristol-based firm is hiring a corporate tax senior/assistant manager to work in its Bristol office. If you have a tax background and you’re looking to make this the year that you step up and develop your career, then this position might be just what you’re looking for.

As part of the role, you’ll work in conjunction with the corporation tax team, audit and accounts teams, and the partners to help manage a portfolio of clients. The specific tasks will involve both compliance duties and advisory projects. Your compliance duties will include preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns and computations, fielding queries from HMRC, offer tax advice on an as-needed basis, and performing tax administration tasks. Capital allowances and research and development tax relief will also form part of your work.

Tax advisory projects will be performed in conjunction with the director and include projects related to group restructuring, share-based incentives, due diligence, and structuring acquisitions. The tasks are as varied as the clients, including OMBs, domestic and international groups, and nonprofits.

So are you right for this role? The successful candidate will already have experience working in a corporate tax role and will be ACA, CTA, or ATT qualified.

More broadly, you will possess tax-related technical skills and a motivation to improve their tax understanding. They’ll be confident in dealing with the clients, managers, and partners and be a self-starter who can work independently. Within the team, they’ll use their extensive interpersonal skills and always bring a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
