This established firm of solicitors, located in a historically rich and beautiful area in central London offers you the opportunity to really develop your technical skills by dealing with large complex cases.
Boasting a large and extensive client portfolio of trusts ranging from historical to entrepreneurial, this firm has developed a national reputation for its high standards of work. The practice has an expertise in private client work, including family work, and together these two areas account for over half the firm’s fee income. In other words, this is a private client driven firm.
Your first task will be to begin building relationships. You will assume responsibility for dealing directly with your clients and managing their trusts and financial affairs. Your portfolio of trusts and charitable trusts will include those ranging from several million to hundreds of millions with funds invested in a wide range of assets including quoted investments, bespoke open ended investment companies, hedge funds, landed estates, residential and commercial property. In addition to the UK work you will also be involved in significant offshore and international work.
You will be working closely with the head of trusts and private client tax who are very accessible and enthusiastic in their approach to both their work and their departments. This firm really does have a ‘team’ mentality. Employees work closely with one another and support each other.
Something that is very interesting about this firm is the hands on approach that its trust managers have with their clients. You will not be responsible for only certain ‘aspects’ of your clients portfolio (like some roles found in many banks or large accountancy firms) you will be able to see the full picture
