|Job Title||Corporate Tax Supervisor Required for Extremely Friendly Firm|
|Salary||£45000 - £52000 per annum|
|Job Published||4 months ago|
|Who to Contact||Harriet Baylore|
Considering you will spend over 90,000 hours at your place of work in your lifetime, its important that is an enjoyable experience. Whether that's working with nice people, dealing with interesting work or going home on time. Just because you love your job doesn't mean you have to spend every waking hour there.
This opportunity ticks all of the boxes.
You will have your own portfolio of clients spanning a broad range of sectors. These can vary anywhere from OMB’s and entrepreneurial companies to large multinational organisations with turnovers venturing into the hundreds of millions. You will manage a range of complicated corporate tax compliance including the completion of corporate tax returns and deferred tax computations, review of draft financial statements, consideration of tax matters arising from financial statements and dealing with HMRC correspondence.
In addition, you will assist in technically building the junior members of the team. You will regularly be involved in the review of their computations and their correspondence with HMRC.
The partner of the team will bring on people that she feels are competent and can perform in the position so you will not be micromanaged. However, you will be working closely with the Senior Manager and Partner who will be available to give you support as and when you need it.
But what kind of place is it?
This multi office practice is centred around doing things well. They have both great retention of clients but also great retention of their own professionals. The partners have worked hard to make the office feel like a collegiate environment. There is an equal split between corporate tax and personal tax professionals and both teams sit within an open plan office so there is a lot of mixing between the two teams.
The corporate tax team currently consists of a partner, a senior manager and three juniors who are either studying for, or recently gained, their CTA qualifications. As a team, they have regular staff events such as ping pong and bowling tournaments.
The firm also have a great approach to work-life balance. The office is usually empty by 5:30pm regardless of seniority and they also pay overtime should you find yourself having to work late for whatever reason!
